BPF / WPU COMPETITION CLASSIFICATIONS 2025

The BPF/WPU competition classifications for 2025 outline a structured pathway for athletes to progress from national to international levels. Here's a breakdown of the competition structure and qualification criteria:

### 1. **British Qualifier**

- **Objective**: Serve as the initial qualifying stage for the National Championships.

- **Qualification Criteria**: The top 3 athletes in all classes will qualify for the National Championships.

### 2. **National Championships**

- **Objective**: Determine the top athletes who will represent their country at the European and World Championships.

- **Qualification Criteria**: The top 3 athletes in each class will qualify for the European & World Championships.

### 3. **European & World Championships**

- **Objective**: Identify the best athletes to compete at the highest level of international competition.

- **Qualification Criteria**: The top 2 athletes in each class will qualify for the Pro Invitational Expo and other International meets.

### Overall Aim

The BPF/WPU aims to provide all national and international athletes with the opportunity to compete at every level, ensuring a clear and fair progression from local competitions to global stages. This structure allows athletes to showcase their skills, gain experience, and achieve recognition on an international platform.

This classification system ensures a competitive yet inclusive environment, fostering growth and excellence in the sport.

EVENTS

  • Certificate of invitation for the 2025 WPA World Championships awarded to the British Powerlifting Federation, held at Hungarikum Liget, Lakitelek, Hungary, from October 28 to November 2, 2025, featuring logos of WPA and the British Powerlifting Federation.
